Student Spotlight: Sarai Martinez

On this day 55 years ago, Aug. 28th, 1968, Martin Luther King courageously spoke out and gave his famous ‘I have a dream” speech! In light of this, we took the time to speak with Sarai Martinez, one of our CEF 8th Grade graduates who is now attending Bishop Conaty-Our Lady of Loretto High School this fall, and eagerly asked her to share her feelings, thoughts, and most importantly… her DREAM!

“At Nativity Elementary school, I loved science, math and spending time with all the little kids.  During my eighth-grade graduation, I felt heartbroken to leave the school I loved and attended since kindergarten. But, I also felt happiness because I was going to Bishop Conaty and it was going to be a new and fun experience.  After attending high school for a few days, I realized how much freedom I have here, such as the college courses I can take, the medical magnet program they offer and all the delicious snacks from the vending machine!  I know that at Bishop Conaty, I can fulfill my lifelong dream of becoming a pediatrician.”
