CEF’s New Director of Development: Jose F. Gonzalez
On May 2, the Catholic Education Foundation welcomed Jose F. Gonzalez as the new Director of Development. With 15 years of development experience, Jose is excited to take on his new role and share his well-rounded knowledge base with CEF.
“I’m humbled and grateful to everyone at CEF for selecting me to be part of the team. I look forward to working with and getting to know the staff, board members, and constituents. I am most excited at the wonderful opportunities we have to further our mission to help underprivileged children access Catholic education throughout the Archdiocese.”
Jose’s development skills were honed under the mentorship of Rev. Msgr. Joe Carroll at one of San Diego’s largest and most respected Catholic organizations, Father Joe’s Villages. Jose has participated in all aspects of building and maintaining donor relationships at the highest levels. He has specialized knowledge in donor cultivation, principal giving, special event management, prospect research, and development database administration. He also has excellent skills in marketing and public relations, having most recently served as the Marketing and Development Manager for San Diego Youth Services (SDYS).
Jose completed his Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration with an emphasis in Non-Profit Leadership at National University. He has also been an active volunteer with several non-profit organizations and in his parish, Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcala. He enjoys cooking gourmet meals, fishing, and spending time with family, especially his wife Marybel, daughter Clara, and their Labrador Retriever Apollo.
