When you hear the word “Programs” in the world of the Catholic Education Foundation, it is in reference to the various tuition assistance programs used to support a student’s enrollment and non-tuition programs to enhance a student’s educational experience. We have several tuition assistance programs structured to meet the various needs and financial situations of the families that we serve. These programs include Tuition Awards Program (TAP), New Enrollment Initiative (NEI) and Save Our Students (SOS). Non-tuition-based programs are Big Yellow Bus, Porteous Sports and Art Trek.
The programs department is led by Associate Director of Programs, Andrew Garcia, and Senior Programs Manager, Adrian Barrios. Their team consists of tuition award process coordinators and program leads deployed to school campuses to meet with families to process tuition-award applications. It can be a very fulfilling day as the processors witness the emotions of relief and excitement firsthand from students and parents when they learn that their child will receive assistance to be part of a Catholic school community.
During the 2022-2023 school year, the Catholic Education Foundation of Los Angeles was able to provide 15,062 tuition awards in excess of $22,000,000 to students attending over 200 schools throughout the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
The impact that the Catholic Education Foundation has made on schools within the Archdiocese of Los Angeles has led to a transformative experience within our Catholic community. As a result, schools are able to offer additional instructional programs for their students and have more resources overall.
