CEF Honors Archbishop Gomez

May 28, 2015- On Thursday May 28th, CEF’s Hispanic Leadership Advisory Board (HLAB) hosted a dinner honoring Archbishop Gomez for his five years of service in Los Angeles. At the event, Archbishop was presented with a proclamation from Los Angeles City Councilman Jose Huizar. The theme of the evening was Breaking Barriers. Building Community. Changing Lives.

ABC 7 reporter Jovana Lara, a product of Catholic schools herself, served as Master of Ceremonies. Former CEF Tuition Award Recipient Josergio Zaragosa was the guest speaker. He spoke about how the support of CEF and his Catholic education are at the root of his professional success. Josergio recently earned his Master’s Degree in Bio-engineering from Santa Clara University and works as a Research Assistant at NASA Ames Research Center.

CEF Executive Director Kathy Ash spoke on continuous need to help students like Josergio. A special thank you to all of our sponsors who made this night possible!
