Bishop Matthew Elshoff, OFM, Cap

The Catholic Education Foundation is happy to welcome newly ordained Bishop Matthew Elshoff, OFM, Cap. to our Board of Trustees. Formerly the Pastor of St. Lawrence of Brindisi in Watts, Bishop Matt now serves as Episcopal Vicar for the Our Lady of the Angels Pastoral Region.

Growing up in La Cañada Flintridge, he attended St. Bede the Venerable School where he was taught by the Sisters of St. Louis who encouraged his vocation to the priesthood.

After graduating from St. Francis High School, he entered the Capuchin Franciscan Order and was ordained in 1982. During his ministry, Bishop Matt served as a teacher and president at his high school alma mater, as well as vocations director for his order.
