Saffron Davila Spikes It Home!

CEF senior Saffron Davila and 3-time USA Olympic Gold medalist Kerri Walsh-Jennings took the stage Tuesday, August 20, 2019, to present a brand new beach volleyball court to the students, faculty, families and supporters of Bishop Conaty – Our Lady of Loretto High School, alongside principal, Ms. Andrea Jenoff. Together, Kerri and the Good Tidings Foundation selected Bishop Conaty – Our Lady of Loretto High School as one of only six schools to receive a premiere beach volleyball court! It is the outstanding charisma and leadership skills of Saffron Davila that put her in the right place to be asked to introduce the 5-time Olympian and record holder for most career wins to the rest of her fellow classmates! With a sense of poise, confidence and ease, she warmed the crowd up by passing around Kerri’s three gold medals and one bronze medal from Athens 2004, Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio de Janeiro 2016.

Saffron, who is also the class Vice President and maintains a cumulative weighted GPA of 4.362, was among the first students to set foot on the newly dedicated and blessed court that is now open at Bishop Conaty – Our Lady of Loretto High School. She played a few “volleys” with Kerri, after whom the new court is appropriately named. Kerri Court will be a valuable addition to a school that educates and empowers the young women of inner-city Los Angeles.

CEF is very proud of Saffron, the volleyball team and all the Wildcats of this wonderful community, who now stand even taller…on land and on sand!
